PROJECT INPUTS
Runnable deterministic steps: 0 / 4. Enter the project conditions used by this verification workflow. Prefilled values (8/13 inputs) are demonstration inputs, not recommended design values.
Step 1: Rectified fracture trace length back-projection — True trace length is derived by correcting the measured 2D unrolled length for the angular offset between fracture strike and borehole axis: L_t = (L_px / ppm) / cos(θ), where θ = |90° − dip| is the acute angle between fracture plane normal and borehole axis; radians() converts degrees to radians for trigonometric evaluation.
Step 2: Spherical Fisher-based cluster validity assessment — 1. Convert each (δ_i, α_i) to unit vector v_i = [sin(δ_i)cos(α_i), sin(δ_i)sin(α_i), cos(δ_i)] in Cartesian coordinates. 2. For each candidate cluster k, compute Fisher concentration parameter κ_k = (n_k − 1) / (n_k − R_k), where R_k = |∑v_i ∈ k v_i|. 3. Compute spherical standard deviation σ_k = sqrt(−2 ln(R_k / n_k)). 4. Accept cluster k iff σ_k ≤ 15° AND min_{j≠k} angular_distance(μ_k, μ_j) ≥ 30°, where angular_distance uses dot product: arccos(μ_k ⋅ μ_j).
Step 3: Empirical RMI computation per borehole interval — RMI is computed as a multiplicative composite: RQD (structural integrity), velocity term (intact rock stiffness), exponential fracture density penalty (persistence degradation), and linear aperture reduction (hydraulic/mechanical weakness). Aperture term clamped at zero for a > 10 mm.
Step 4: IDW-based 3D zonation voxel assignment — 1. For each voxel center (x,y,z) in target grid: a) Identify all borehole intervals whose 3D spatial extent intersects a sphere of radius 50 m centered at (x,y,z); b) Filter to intervals where vertical overlap exists: max(d_start_i, z−2.5) ≤ min(d_end_i, z+2.5); c) Compute 3D Euclidean distance r_j = sqrt((x−X_j)² + (y−Y_j)² + (z−Z_j)²) for each qualifying interval j; d) If <3 intervals found, assign 'Unknown'; else compute IDW weights w_j = 1 / r_j², normalize to ∑w_j = 1, and assign class with maximum weighted vote. 2. Output labeled voxel grid.

Engineering Verification Summary
HOW THIS VERIFICATION WORKS
Step 1: Rectified fracture trace length back-projection — engineering workflow step. Follow the documented method for manual execution.
Step 2: Spherical Fisher-based cluster validity assessment — engineering workflow step. Follow the documented method for manual execution.
Step 3: Empirical RMI computation per borehole interval — compares engineering inputs against deterministic thresholds and produces a PASS or FAIL decision.
Step 4: IDW-based 3D zonation voxel assignment — compares engineering inputs against deterministic thresholds and produces a PASS or FAIL decision.
This tool coordinates 2 validation steps and 2 calculation steps. The overall engineering decision uses ALL_REQUIRED_VALIDATION_PASS aggregation: only validation steps contribute to the pass/fail outcome; calculation steps produce data only.
METHODS & EQUATIONS
All formulas are resolved from canonical runtime definitions and executed deterministically by the client-side engine.
True trace length is derived by correcting the measured 2D unrolled length for the angular offset between fracture strike and borehole axis: L_t = (L_px / ppm) / cos(θ), where θ = |90° − dip| is the acute angle between fracture plane normal and borehole axis; radians() converts degrees to radians for trigonometric evaluation.
1. Convert each (δ_i, α_i) to unit vector v_i = [sin(δ_i)cos(α_i), sin(δ_i)sin(α_i), cos(δ_i)] in Cartesian coordinates. 2. For each candidate cluster k, compute Fisher concentration parameter κ_k = (n_k − 1) / (n_k − R_k), where R_k = |∑v_i ∈ k v_i|. 3. Compute spherical standard deviation σ_k = sqrt(−2 ln(R_k / n_k)). 4. Accept cluster k iff σ_k ≤ 15° AND min_{j≠k} angular_distance(μ_k, μ_j) ≥ 30°, where angular_distance uses dot product: arccos(μ_k ⋅ μ_j).
Step 3: Empirical RMI computation per borehole interval
Manual Workflow
RMI is computed as a multiplicative composite: RQD (structural integrity), velocity term (intact rock stiffness), exponential fracture density penalty (persistence degradation), and linear aperture reduction (hydraulic/mechanical weakness). Aperture term clamped at zero for a > 10 mm.
Step 4: IDW-based 3D zonation voxel assignment
Manual Workflow
1. For each voxel center (x,y,z) in target grid: a) Identify all borehole intervals whose 3D spatial extent intersects a sphere of radius 50 m centered at (x,y,z); b) Filter to intervals where vertical overlap exists: max(d_start_i, z−2.5) ≤ min(d_end_i, z+2.5); c) Compute 3D Euclidean distance r_j = sqrt((x−X_j)² + (y−Y_j)² + (z−Z_j)²) for each qualifying interval j; d) If <3 intervals found, assign 'Unknown'; else compute IDW weights w_j = 1 / r_j², normalize to ∑w_j = 1, and assign class with maximum weighted vote. 2. Output labeled voxel grid.
UNDERSTANDING THE RESULTS
PASS
A proven validation criterion passed. The engineering input satisfies the deterministic threshold.
FAIL
A proven validation criterion failed. The engineering input does not satisfy the deterministic threshold.
CALCULATED
A deterministic calculation completed, but no acceptance criterion exists for this step. CALCULATED does NOT mean PASS.
RESULT NOT VALID
Runtime executed but engineering validity requirements were not met.
INCOMPLETE
Required inputs or workflow steps are incomplete.
The overall decision reflects only validation steps. Calculation steps produce numerical results without pass/fail claims.
WHEN TO USE THIS TOOL
When deterministic Borehole Optical Televiewer engineering verification is needed for project-specific conditions.
For calculation of Rectified fracture trace length back-projection (Step 1).
For calculation of Spherical Fisher-based cluster validity assessment (Step 2).
For validation of Empirical RMI computation per borehole interval (Step 3).
For validation of IDW-based 3D zonation voxel assignment (Step 4).
For deterministic pre-checks before formal engineering review or submission.
When NOT to use this tool: This tool does not replace laboratory testing, formal engineering analysis by a licensed professional, or code-compliance certification. It performs deterministic threshold comparison and calculation only.
A PASS result means the validation step's deterministic threshold comparison was satisfied. It does not constitute laboratory certification or code compliance.
What does a CALCULATED result mean?
A CALCULATED result means the deterministic calculation completed, but no acceptance criterion is applied to this step. CALCULATED does NOT mean PASS.

How many steps are golden verified?
0 out of 4 steps have been verified with deterministic golden test cases.
